RFP: Doneness Indicator for Sausages

A global sausage manufacturer invites proposals for methods to indicate doneness of grilled fresh pork sausage products. The succesful technology will:
  • Change color or offer clear visual indication when cooked sausage reaches certain temperature.
  • Provide consistent indication over a wide range of grill conditions
  • Be compatible with fresh port sausage with a natural hog casing
  • Be economical in cost at production volume
  • Preferable permit customized text message to appear on cooked sausage
  • Ideally be compatible with fresh refrigerated or frozen products.

    Timeline
    Phase 1 - Proof of concept within 4 months.
    Phase 2 - Commercialization within 9-12 months

    Finacials
    Phase 1 - Proof of concept funding up to US$ 15,000 for ready solutions, or funding for solutions requiring development commensurate with proposed activity.
