| Question of in-door GPS using RFID |
| by dmeyer |
Hi, all,
I am new to this industry and find myself reading everything I can get my hands on. I have recently patented an idea that can use RFID as a wireless communication for an Indoor GPS for people with and without disabilities. The problem I have is that my idea works in the opposite direction than what I am reading in moreRFID.com. I need to find a handheld device that can calculate its location using radio frequency tags as points of reference.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me. I would really appreciate it if I could push back some ideas with an expert in this field.
Regards,
Meyer |

Hi, Meyer,
Could you provide the link to show what is exactly in your pending patent.
Hi,
What type of RFID you're referring to? Passive or Active. If your idea is to implement "indoor GPS" to locate people with disabilities, I believe there are several active RFID systems in the market which is able to provide tag (or ppl wearing the tag) location info in real time. It's called RTLS (Real Time Location System). You can google RTLS to find information and related products. |
