| Description | PowerID's battery-powered RFID labels combine the flexibility and operational longevity of passive labels with the enhanced range performance, data processing, and storage capabilities of active tags. The battery integrated in the label enables the PowerID System to overcome the challenges of limited range and signal reflection, collision, and interference that occur with existing RFID solutions. PowerID labels contain an integrated power source, antenna, and integrated circuit, and can be mass-produced using roll-to-roll production and printing techniques.
Unparalleled reliability:
The labels can be read in the most challenging RF environments, including those with the presence of metals, foils, liquids, etc.
The labels can be read when they are sandwiched between crates.
The position of the label (and antenna) does not prohibit the label from communicating with the reader (e.g. the antenna is "orientation insensitive").
Highest range performance:
In a typical, un-hindered environment, PowerID battery-assisted labels can be read from 60 feet (18 meters). This is due to the fact that the battery on the label supplies the constant voltage necessary for long-range operations.
Operational flexibility:
PowerID battery-assisted labels and readers have been designed such that the antenna can operate in a wide UHF bandwidth. This enables a single label to be compatible with US and EU frequency standards and operable in an open system architecture.
