[02/20/06]
Encentuate Inc., a provider of enterprise access security solutions, announced that Encentuate TCI is the first access security solution to provide universal two factor authentication with Smart Label technology integration. Now, organizations can have the ultimate freedom of choice as users can leverage virtually any personal device for two factor authentication and securely access all information systems.
Encentuate TCI's patent-pending technology provides organizations with a next-generation proximity-based authentication solution that is based on cost-effective and widely adopted Smart Label technology. Smart Labels contain an RFID tag which can adhere flat to devices and can be used for a variety of tracking and identification purposes. Smart Labels can be used in tandem with an enterprise access security solution to assure the identity of the user and ensure fast access to computers, applications and information systems. Encentuate TCI makes it possible for organizations to use Smart Labels on existing devices to enhance security, increase user productivity and comply with industry regulation requirements.
"We are pleased to be the first in the industry to provide universal two factor authentication with Smart Label technology integration for identity assurance," said Thomas F. Kelly, chief executive officer of Encentuate. "Encentuate continues to add authentication factors to help provide organizations with the power of choice, enabling organizations to select the authentication factors that best meet the level of security and convenience they require. Universal two factor authentication provides ultimate freedom of choice for our customers looking at adopting two factor authentication."
"Encentuate TCI combined with Smart Labels is the ideal solution for our organization," said Jeff Wolff, director of information technology at Bayshore Community Health Services in Holmdel, N.J. "Smart Labels allow us to conveniently and affordably incorporate enhanced access security into a number of areas of our operations, while TCI provides seamless integration with the labels to facilitate identity and access management. As a result, we can quickly incorporate access security into a variety of devices and applications to help us to better protect both our physical and digital assets."
"A challenge within the IAM industry is to implement flexible two factor authentication that is secure, convenient and affordable," stated Barry Runyon, a healthcare providers research director with Gartner. "The ideal approach would leverage the devices, tokens and infrastructure that exist within the enterprise."
"There is tremendous potential for two factor authentication solution within enterprises with minimum user disruption," added Kelly. "Compared with other authentication factors, this technology is much more affordable, transparent, convenient, and delivers similar security benefits to an organization. With universal two factor authentication, Encentuate delivers one of the market's most innovative, cost-effective, easy-to-deploy proximity-based authentication technologies."
Encentuate TCI combines sign-on/sign-off automation with access workflow automation, authentication management and user-centric access auditing and reporting. The solution supports multiple authentication factors including building access badges, biometrics, one-time passwords (OTP), RFID, active RFID, and USB smart cards to provide secure and easy access to information systems. Encentuate TCI can be implemented with existing information and network access infrastructure without any modifications. As a result, integration time and costs are reduced, and implementations can be completed without causing significant interruption to workflow and employee productivity.
