Datamax Corporation, a global leader and supplier of bar code labeling and RFID printing solutions, announced that Datamax has received the EPCglobal certificate of Gen2 interoperability for each of their RFID-enabled printers tested under EPCglobal's certification process. Demonstrating their ongoing dedication to address the printing needs of global organizations, all Datamax products tested earned interoperability certification at both FCC and ETSI frequency ranges. A representative printer from each member of the Datamax range of RFID printing solutions, including printers from the A-Class, H-Class, and M-Class printer families, were tested and certified for meeting this critical global standard.

The interoperability certification program demonstrates the ability of EPCglobal certified tags to work with certified readers or printer/encoders. The Gen2 RFID standard has been adopted by many organizations including the United States Department of Defense, Wal-Mart (the world's largest retailer), and the Metro Group (the world's fifth-largest retailing group).

"The purpose of this program is to enable end-users to be confident that the certified hardware products which they implement will work in predictable ways as defined by EPCglobal standards," said Chris Adcock, president of EPCglobal, Inc. "The early receipt of these essential certifications demonstrates to our partners and customers our sustained global commitment to innovative technology solutions. Further, the scope of our expertise in this key emerging area continues to grow exponentially as we benefit from cooperation with other technology leaders within the Dover group," affirmed Mark Bjerkestrand, chief operating officer of Datamax.
