Hypercom Corporation today introduced SmartPayments EasyRetail, an all-inclusive new product that lets smaller merchants bring the speed and convenience of cardholder-facing payment terminals to single-lane checkout counters. Featuring Hypercom's high security Optimum L4150 and L4250 multi-lane terminals and PC-based SmartPayments electronic payment processing software, Hypercom's SmartPayments EasyRetail combines into one easy-to-install, "plug and play" package all of the components required for a retailer to begin conducting and accepting cardholder-facing electronic payments within minutes.

Faster checkout and reconciliation by integrating point-of-sale and PC-based payment processing, the cardholder and cashier are simultaneously interacting with the payment transaction, just as they would in a larger, multi-lane environment. That allows the payment data to be instantaneously transmitted to the terminal screen and processor database, negates the need for retailer manual entry and/or two receipts, and speeds reconciliation by incorporating the processor's approval code and other data into the POS system for easy retrieval.
Built-in support for most leading POS systems together with rapid integration capabilities for non-supported systems because no hardware integration is required.
Rapid, "plug and play" integration with Hypercom's high security, cardholder-facing L4150 and L4250 card payment terminals.

In addition to Hypercom's Optimum L4150 or L4250 payment terminals and SmartPayments software, SmartPayments EasyRetail comes complete with an installation cable, power cable and PC-based quick install guide. The product also provides the ability to support integrated plug-ins for Microsoft's Retail Management System (RMS) and Intuit's QuickBooks accounting packages. It also comes with free help desk support for the first month, and a competitive annual help desk cost thereafter.
The new 32-bit top-of-the-line PCI PED-approved, EMV and Interac-certified L4150 features a new 64K color glass capacitive touch screen that provides the market's brightest and most legible interface for effective interactive advertising at the point-of-sale. The terminal's video-capable 200 MHz processor ensures that it can support bandwidth-intensive graphics and animations as well as high-speed transaction handling without compromising performance. The PCI PED-approved L4250 is a high-performance device with a 220x80 pixel 16-grayscale LCD touch screen for retail branding. Both terminals feature Hypercom's innovative, dual sided, bi-directional magnetic stripe reader; and offer retailers the option of accepting contactless payments, as well as signature capture and retrieval.
Hypercom's SmartPayments suite is an electronic payment processing solution for PC-based cash registers that provides direct interfaces to the major payment processors.
