AutoVision Wireless Inc. has just secured a value added reseller agreement with TransCore for the active promotion and reselling of TransCore's GlobalWave satellite communication and asset tracking products and services.

Having GlobalWave's product and services as part of the AutoVision family is a natural extension of our core business. Now we can go beyond CDMA and GSM networks to meet the needs of our mobile customer base

TransCore's GlobalWave system is a two-way satellite data communication system for the transportation industry that provides remote monitoring and tracking via the Internet. Assets are monitored 24 hours per day using existing geostationary satellites to relay two-way, low-speed data bursts between a communications terminal connected to the assets and computers hosted in a central Network Operations Center (NOC).

The system allows for various types of reports such as: polls for real time GPS location, pre-scheduled configurable over the air reports, and temperature and battery parameter based reports.

By adding the GlobalWave product and services to its current offering, AutoVision Wireless Inc. can address connectivity requirements that go beyond the coverage areas of traditional cellular networks.

"Having GlobalWave's product and services as part of the AutoVision family is a natural extension of our core business. Now we can go beyond CDMA and GSM networks to meet the needs of our mobile customer base," said Mukhtar Rahemtulla, president of AutoVision Wireless Inc.

With three ground control stations providing service to five continents, the GlobalWave network supports customers worldwide including more than 600 commercial fleets throughout North America, the U.S. Department of Defense, and powers TransCore's 3sixty fleet management services. In 2007, TransCore's trailer tracking and communications unit reached distribution milestones exceeding 150,000 satellite communications transceivers worldwide.
