Ekahau recently announced a new program that provides customers with an easy, risk-free way to take advantage of the benefits of enterprise-grade, Wi-Fi-based location tracking applications within their organizations.

The Ekahau Zero-Risk System Guarantee - a first of its kind in the industry - will allow customers to purchase and use the Ekahau RTLS system, and receive their money back if they are not satisfied with the solution's performance.

"When organizations are investigating the various RFID, RTLS and other location tracking technologies on the market today, small, localized pilots of those solutions often do not provide a clear picture of how the system would work when installed campuswide, or what cost overruns for additional infrastructure may arise," said Tuomo Rutanen, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Business Development at Ekahau. "Unlike other providers, Ekahau can offer customers peace of mind that the Ekahau RTLS solution will work as promised. We have the tools to predict the performance of the system before a single tag is deployed. In addition, we offer the market-leading location tracking solution that operates on and integrates with the existing Wi-Fi network. All of this is accomplished without the need for more sensors, cabling, exciters and readers to be installed."

Ekahau's Wi-Fi-based RTLS system is known in the industry for its superior performance and ability to provide reliable and consistent location accuracy. Ekahau RTLS is entirely software-based, making it easy to deploy and scale across large campuses or over multi-campus installations because it leverages a customer's existing Wi-Fi infrastructure. Even with marginal Wi-Fi coverage, Ekahau RTLS is able to provide superior performance, according to the results of comparisons with competing systems performed by Ekahau customers and other third parties. Ekahau's in-depth expertise in RF signal processing and its broad portfolio of Wi-Fi patents form the basis of Ekahau RTLS.

Since the Ekahau RTLS system performance is predicated on the layout of the customer's existing Wi-Fi network, the Ekahau Site Survey (ESS) tool is used to measure and analyze the Wi-Fi network layout and topology to ensure sufficient Wi-Fi coverage before installation. ESS is used by most of the major wireless LAN vendors to plan and troubleshoot their networks today, so it can also easily identify any network issues should there be any. Ekahau's innovative heat-mapping technology and RF algorithms create easy-to-understand visual performance reports on the network, which enables Ekahau to guarantee the performance of its RTLS solution. The same tools can be used to give the customer visibility into various other network performance-related factors and provides information for optimizing voice, data and video services over the same network.

The Ekahau Zero-Risk System Guarantee is available to all new customers. Prior to installation, Ekahau will conduct a site audit in order to develop a comprehensive performance report, which will serve as the basis of the system's performance guarantee. Once the system is installed, a customer will have 30 days to review the system, ensuring that it performs as promised. Should the customer find any faults with the system, Ekahau will fix the problems at no cost or refund the cost of the system.
