Mojix Inc. announced the promotion of Dr. Christopher R. Jones to the position of Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Dr. Jones will lead Mojix research and product development initiatives with focus on solutions for large scale deployments enabled by the Mojix technology portfolio.

"As CTO, Chris will lead initiatives to provide Mojix game changing solutions that address the ever increasing scale of worldwide deployments to modernize supply and logistics management."

Dr. Jones has extensive experience pioneering fundamental communication systems inventions and driving the resulting technology through wide scale deployment. Dr. Jones joined Mojix in 2006 as Vice President, Advanced Technology leading Mojix development initiatives in areas of passive real-time location (RTLS) eLocation technology, Mojix eGroup technology and the Mojix IP portfolio. Previously Dr. Jones held the position of a senior scientist at the California Institute of Technology Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he made major contributions to the US space program developing error correcting codes for direct-to-earth communications as well as Mars Lander-to-Orbiter communications. He holds 10 NASA awards for contributions to technologies related to deep space communications and has co-authored the most recent coding standard adopted by eleven national space agencies, including NASA and ESA, for communication between remote spacecraft and Earth.

Dr. Jones began his career as a VLSI Engineer at Broadcom Corporation from 1997-2002 where he was one of the earliest employees of the company and a member of the teams that invented the first DOCSIS cable modems, high data rate digital subscriber line technologies, and breakthrough spectrally efficient transceivers for direct broadcast satellite.

Dr. Jones holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA). Dr Jones continues to holds a visiting scientist position at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, in Pasadena, CA, and has authored more than 40 refereed publications and is an inventor on 25 issued patents.
