Getac, a leading innovator and manufacturer of rugged computers that meet the demands of field-based applications, is introducing a new, fully rugged tablet PC with significant performance enhancements designed to maintain and exceed the growing demands of users in the field service, utilities, industrial, and law enforcement sectors.

Safely housed in its rugged magnesium alloy case, the Getac E110 tablet PC incorporates a host of new and improved technology and performance features including a fast, Intel Atom N2800 1.86GHz processor, embedded LifeSupport backup battery to support hot-swapping, a 10.1-inch HD sunlight readable display with QuadraClear and it runs Windows 7 Professional for immediate deployment with existing software platforms.

The Getac E110 rugged tablet addresses a critical concern among field technicians and public safety professionals by offering an embedded LifeSupport battery to support battery hot-swapping. LifeSupport allows users to quickly swap in a charged battery without having to shut the system off or risk loss of data. And, with spare batteries and optional dual-bay battery charger, the E110 with LifeSupport can continue working through multiple users and multiple shifts. In addition, Getac's exclusive Power Management Technology helps maximize battery power for extended use.

Getac has also incorporated its advanced backlight and anti-reflective technologies into the E110 with a 10.1-inch 750 NITs high-definition sunlight readable touchscreen display featuring Getac's exclusive QuadraClear technology. Improved graphics performance comes in the form of an integrated GMA 3650 graphics processor.

"Getac has incorporated significant improvements in CPU and graphics performance in the new E110 rugged tablet that will allow field-based users work in the most extreme working environments effectively, efficiently, and with confidence," explains Jim Rimay, President, Getac. "Its fully rugged exterior and solid state storage protect system components and invaluable files from typical environmental hazards including heat, cold, and drops, vibration and shock."

The E110 gets a 300% speed increase according to the 3DMark 06 test when you combine its new Intel Atom N2800 1.86GHz processor with the DDR3 memory and improved graphics. The E110 also provides a long list of connectivity options including RS-232 Serial port, two USB ports, smart card readers, contactless high-frequency RFID reader, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G Network connectivity for those who need wireless in the field*. In addition, the E110 is IP65 and MIL-STD-810G rated, with an ability to survive three feet drops, vibrations, and capacity to work in temperatures from -21?C to 60?C and other factors that would severely damage or disable a commercial-grade PC.

The E110 will begin shipping mid-August.
