The products readily integrate to a wide range of computing devices from desktops to handheld computers to java enabled cell phones. Tracient’s wireless products fill immediate needs for affordable, lightweight data capture tools in retail, manufacturing and logistics operations. They are simple to use and easy to integrate.
Tracient’s major value proposition is the ability to leverage handheld products across a wide range of vendors to provide RFID as an incremental addition to a data capture platform. This lowers capital outlay and the total cost of ownership, extends the lifetime of existing infrastructure, enables incremental deployment, minimizes risk to the business, lowers the cost of implementation and ultimately provides a flexible “mix and match” of devices. In some cases it allows migration paths between multiple RFID protocols.
Tracient’s customer base operate in a very wide number of markets and sectors with primary uses being asset management, item level management, production process management, quality assurance and traceability systems. Though only a little over a year old in July 2008, Tracient already had achieved 80 customers in 20 countries.
